Our Mission

This league is about more than basketball. It is about friendship, teamwork, competition, sportsmanship, and creating lasting memories during the final years of high school.

We want the boys to enjoy playing the game, compete hard, respect one another, and finish the season with a positive experience.

League Information, Eligibility Requirements, and Rules

1. League Overview

Our High School Basketball League is designed for boys ages 15–18, who are enrolled in grades 9–12.

What makes our league unique is that we encourage the boys to form their own teams with friends from school or friends in general. We believe these final years of high school basketball should be an opportunity for the boys to enjoy playing the game with people they know and build lasting memories. If you won't have a team we will help place you on a team.

Team Roster Requirements

• • Minimum of 8 players.
  • Maximum of 10 players.
  • If a team does not have the minimum of eight players, I will assist in filling the remaining roster spots.

We average approximately 12–14 teams each season.

2. Divisions

To provide a competitive and enjoyable experience, we divide the league into two divisions:

• A Division: Generally intended for the older players.
• B Division: Generally intended for the younger players.

Some players fall between these age groups. In those situations, I will consult with the coach and consider their input when determining the appropriate division.

Because we do not have sufficient gym time for regular practices, tryouts, or extensive team balancing, we rely on this format to keep the league organized while allowing the boys to play with their friends.

3. Player Eligibility

All players must meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in high school.
• Be in grades 9–12 but at least 15 years old as of Sept. 1st.
• Meet the league's age requirements.
• Junior Varsity (JV) players are welcome.
• Players who are members of their school's Varsity basketball team are not eligible.

4. Coach Requirements

• All coaches must be at least 21 years old.
• Coaches are required to attend every game. If a coach cannot attend, they must arrange for a qualified replacement.
• Games will not be played without a coach present. If a team does not have a coach or approved replacement, the game will be recorded as a forfeit.
• This requirement is in place to protect the safety and well-being of our players and to ensure appropriate adult supervision in the event of an injury or other situation.

5. Game Schedule and Location

• Location: Fallston High School
• Game Day: Sundays
• Typical Game Times: Between 11 am until 4:00 p.m.

Our season begins on the second Sunday of the New Year and runs through the second or third Sunday in March.

Each division will also have a single-elimination end-of-season tournament.

6. Registration

Registration is open and will run through November or until the league is full, whichever comes first.

Late registration may remain open until the first scrimmages, depending on roster availability and league needs.

Teams are encouraged to register early to allow sufficient time to organize rosters and prepare for the season.

7. Sportsmanship, Conduct, and Player Safety

Our primary goal is to provide a safe, competitive, and enjoyable basketball experience for every player.

We expect all players to demonstrate respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and league officials.

The following behavior will not be tolerated:

• Pushing or shoving.
• Taunting or unsportsmanlike conduct.
• Vulgar or abusive language.
• Fighting or throwing punches.

Any player who throws a punch will be removed from the league, with no exceptions.

We take sportsmanship seriously. Our goal is to ensure that every player can enjoy the game in a positive environment without unnecessary conflict or intimidation.

8. Officials

We use IABBO referees, the same organization that officiates high school basketball games. Our officials do an excellent job of managing games, enforcing the rules, and helping maintain control on the court.

• Travel tryouts are only for players who want to play travel.
• The “evaluations” for the Rec program will be in November.
• Please have your daughter wear a reversible pinny if possible if not a white shirt is requested. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.
• There are additional fees for the travel program.
• Please expect to practice 2x a week and play 2 games per weekend.
• The season runs Mid-October to early March.
